Celebrate the start of the Happendance School Season with us! Come out and meet some of our faculty, try out some of our classes, and enjoy some refreshments. Faculty and staff members will be on site to answer any questions regarding our fall dance class schedule and register students for our 2024/2025 classes!

Happendance Professional Company Auditions for the 2024/2025 season will include a warm-up, Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip Hop/Street Dance Movement Phrase. Company members commit to at least seven hours of rehearsal each week on Wednesdays from 9:30am-1:30pm and Fridays from 10:00am-1:00pm, and 15-25 performances per season. Velocity dancers are paid hourly for rehearsal and are paid lump sums for each performance. To register for the audition, or for more information, visit the Professional Company tab.

Happendance’s Velocity Professional Company performs with the LCC Jazz band. Come out and see new original dance works by guest choreographer, Jim McEwan, Velocity Rehearsal Director, Jennah Quinn Gray, and Happendance CEO, Rachel Miller set to live music. Come on out and see original choreography made by the Happendance Impulse Student Company members under the mentorship of our Happendance Impulse directors. This performance will take place in the large INstitute studio at Happendance. No tickets are necessary, but donations at the door are appreciated!

Dance Lansing is a collaborative summer dance project that brings together local dancers and choreographers to create dance works to be performed live at various performance opportunities throughout the summer. In the past Dance Lansing has performed for venues such as Lansing Pride, Ingham County Fair (Two venues already on the calendar for this summer!), Jazz Fest, and other local events throughout the summer, plus a gala event at LCC.

We're looking for dancers 16+ (No upper age limit!) with any dance background! Whether you've been dancing for 40 years or just started,you'll have plenty of performance and rehearsal opportunities. Because of the collaborative nature of this unique dance company we are also open, if not encouraging, of giving a platform to all styles of dance! From ballet to belly dancing, tap to tango, and everything in between!
